Brooks uses Higg Co to reveal strategic changes they can make to their footwear products, for positive impact on runner and environment.
Brooks used the Higg Design & Development Module (Higg DDM) to unlock knowledge, develop a baseline, uncover trends, and create a sustainable path forward for some of their most popular products.
In order to manage their supply chain impact, Brooks started with Higg Co at step one: measuring to establish a baseline.
Brooks conducted Higg Design & Development Module (Higg DDM) assessments on three of their most popular footwear styles, and six of their most popular apparel styles. They looked at the historic performance of these styles dating back to Spring 2016, to develop a baseline assessment, to uncover trends and for historical analysis.
In Spring 2020, they plan to use the Higg DDM during the product creation process for these select styles.
The intuitive format was key in helping them progress. “A single score also allows us to benchmark ourselves against other products in our company and our industry,” said David Kemp, Brooks’ Sustainability Manager. “We rely on the Higg DDM to help keep pushing us forward.”
And the more brands who use these tools, the better the industry benchmarking gets. “Knowing how we compare within our industry is important for driving strategic decisions,” Kemp said.
We look forward to helping Brooks continue to improve their supply chain impact along the way.
